President: Dr. Nelda Hylton
As the president of Hylton & Company, Nelda plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily management and operational facets of the company. Her leadership ensures that all aspects of the business run smoothly, from tenant and owner relations to project management and property acquisitions. Nelda’s keen eye for detail and strategic approach have been instrumental in the company’s growth and success.
In 2011, Nelda embarked on her journey as an entrepreneur by starting her own portfolio of investment properties, focusing on the acquisition and renovation of both single-family and multi-family properties. Her hands-on experience in these ventures has provided her with deep insights into the real estate market, particularly in the Hampton Roads and Richmond areas, where she has established herself as a knowledgeable and respected figure.
A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Nelda brings a wealth of local knowledge to her role. She is a proud graduate of Norfolk State University and holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)/Medical College of Virginia (MCV). Before joining Hylton & Company in 2016, Nelda honed her leadership skills during a ten-year tenure with Wal-Mart, where she held various senior management pharmacy positions that sharpened her business acumen.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Nelda is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, through which she participates in numerous community service projects. Nelda also volunteers her time at local health fairs, reflecting her dedication to improving the well-being of others, especially for those that are suffering from diabetes.
